OTHER THERAPIES

Herbalism
Since before recorded history, herbs have been trusted as a source
of food and medicine.
They can improve our enviornment and can be used in cooking and also pot pourri,
giving the environment a beautiful perfume.
They are also a wonderful help to deter insects and improve composts,
but most of all, herbs are wonderful healers.

They can be used in oils, dried, in teas, for poltices, tinctures and straight from
the garden to treat stings, bruises etc. and just
add special touches to the landscape.

With correct guidence from a herbalist, and a healthy diet,
they can prevent illnesses by strengthening the entire body and immune system.

Floral Acupressure

Ear acupressure (also known as auricular acupressure)
is a treatment used on various points of the ear which
relate to certain body areas (as in reflexology).

When flower essences are combined with this treatment
it helps to relieve certain problems of pain and stress.

When used in conjunction with the Flower Essences, the
flowers' message is carried through the meridian line
with ease and no discomfort. It is non-invasive and can be
used for areas which may be difficult to reach in other forms
of treatment.

Ayurveda
Ayurveda is known as The Science (Ayu) of life (veda).
It is an ancient East Indian health system.

Ayurveda helps us to understand and learn how to reduce toxins
in life and maximize the positive, healing experiences in our minds and bodies.
This is very basically done by,
understanding the constitution you were born with,
and then by using the diets, lifestyle and habits of
three consitutional types, to create balance.

They are....

Vata - who have thin bodies, quick minds and actions and like lots of change.
They are creative, enthusiastic and lively.
When imbalanced - it can lead to deep stress and
nervous tendancies, trouble sleeping and digestive problems.

Pitta - Are often muscular, determined and clever.
they are warm, intelligent and make excellent freinds.
When imbalanced - Pitta people may be very critical
display anger but can soon be over it.
They can often be prone to infections, fevers or
heat diseases and the hair can grey early.

Kapha - Have a heavier frame, move and think more leisurely,
and are usually very stable. They are also generally calm,
good natured, patient, kind and loyal.
When imbalanced - Can gain weight, may have frequent
mucous or water congestion, are resistant
to some changes, or often hold on to the past.

The Chakra System
We each hold within our bodies the vibrant colour spectrum
in seven main energy centres called
the "Chakras."

By using colour and/or gemstones on these centres
we can balance and clear emotional and mental states,
which may have been there longer than necessary.
